COVID-19 update ( Level 3 Step 2)

HUs is committed to providing a safe venue for all guests to enjoy. While we remain at a COVID-19 Alert Level system, we are inspired to align with the Events Sector Voluntary Code and we are hoping you’ll help us by doing your bit to stop the spread of COVID-19.

We’ve always taken the health and safety of our guests as our number one priority and encourage all visitors to HU’s to follow the best practice expectations listed below. These are based on Ministry of Health guidance to reduce COVID-19 related risks and in the unlikely event of an outbreak, it will enable our organisation to support the Ministry of Health in contact tracing.

What best practices do we expect of our guests at HU’s?

* Ensure you scan the QR code using the NZ COVID Tracer App
* Follow good hygiene principles such as regularly washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, sneezing into your elbow, using an alcohol-based hand sanitiser when necessary.
* Avoid close contact with others who are not in your bubble. When physical distancing isn’t a requirement, you can still play it safe by continuing to keep a distance from people you do not know. 
* Please stay home if you are unwell and call Healthline (for free) on 0800 358 5453 or your health care provider if you think you have symptoms of COVID-19.

HUs are committed to making our venue as compliant as possible and will be operating under the Alert Level system or Covid-19 Protection Framework (Traffic Light System) guidelines as set out by the NZ government. The requirement of vaccine certificates will be updated here when required. 

HUs best practices include:

* Thorough and frequent cleaning of all surfaces, with an appropriate cleaning solution to reduce transmission of germs in general. 
* Ensuring the QR code is visible ( at the left see-through the window of the south facing entry door) and available to all guests in a variety of locations within the venue.
* Providing appropriate hand washing facilities, soap in all bathroom facilities.
* Encouraging event hosts to include in their announcements to guests, reminders to scan in, wash hands and socially distance.

Postponement due to Covid-19 lockdown policy

Have peace of mind in knowing that In the unfortunate event of an alert level lockdown in Auckland at the time of your booking, your booking will be transferred to a suitable postponement date, or held as credit until you are able to choose a suitable postponement for your event. 

If your original event date was directly affected by an alert level change, and a postponement date is not possible, you may request a full refund.

Terms & Conditions

We want you to have a fabulous and relaxing stay and kindly ask for general courtesy and that your treat the home like is your own. Below are our guest standards around your stay. Breach could result in early termination and or charges. Please conserve water as there are only 2 water tanks. Be water wise by taking shorter showers, turning off the water while brushing teeth, use dishwasher vs running tap during dishes. All waste water goes to septic tank so please do not put food scraps down kitchen sink. Switch off heaters and lights when leaving the house. Switch off stove when not in use. Put everything back where found please including dishes. Clean BBQ after use. No animals inside. No smoking inside. When walking around the farm please close all gates behind you. Leave entrance gate remote and door keys on copper tray in the bar upon exiting. Please respect privacy of other tenants on site. MAP of the farm will highlight boundary areas of tenants. Please do not feed stock or animals. Please respect neighbours by keeping down evening noise. Bond will be released upon exit inspection. Please inform manager of any damage caused by mistake. At HUs – Boutique Venue & Accommodation the health, safety and welfare of all Employees, Guests and Visitors is of equal importance to all other operational considerations. The employer, supervisors and employees work together to create a safe working environment and ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA) and subsequent Regulations.

We are responsible for

  • Providing a safe and healthy working environment, including equipment, materials and systems of work;
  • Providing the resources to implement and support safe work practices;
  • Providing ways for workers to be informed about and involved in health and safety issues;
  • Ensuring all safe work procedures are kept up-to-date.

Our management Team are responsible for

  • Managing day-to-day health and safety issues;
  • Ensuring new workers receive information, training and appropriate supervision;
  • Ensuring workers receive training before starting new tasks or using new equipment;
  • Ensuring safe work procedures are followed;
  • Investigating accidents and incidents, and maintain records relating to the health and safety of staff. This is to prevent re-occurrence.

Our employees are responsible for

  • Following safety procedures and instructions and participate in safety training;
  • Using equipment provided by the person in control of a business or undertaking to protect their health and safety;
  • Reporting any workplace incidents or potential hazards to their supervisor;
  • Actively participating in the resolution of occupational health and safety issues;
  • Protecting their health and safety and that of others by not working while under the influence of alcohol or other drugs;
  • Not interfering with, or removing any safety guards, safety devices or protective equipment provided by the person in control of a business or undertaking.

We expect Contractors and Visitors to

Comply with safety instructions while in our workplace and ensure that their actions or inactions do not place other people at risk.
